Edit : The challenge is over, it was an epic challenge. It was a great experience for me, because I never thought there was some opportunities to rank on google.com. I was focus on the french market, but all we made in France is working for international. My loveseo.top and my 🍷🇫🇷 doesn't rank, but it's funny to see my emoji on (sirop hero query). sirop in france is sirup. I probably waste too much time on it, but it was funny.The only thing that was positive, it's that this blog was on top 20 since the beginning, with my twitter account they were 1st page for some month then go to the 2 page, but they don't participate on the challenge, and the second page is where we are hiding the deads ;-)
I've made some satellites (less than 4), some are just a test plateform, other are different CMS but the real question is. Did a wix site rank better than a google one or a wordpress ?
I really tested the Wix CMS because i always want to test if something is right. But like I mention on the video you will find about the debrief on the wix challenge, I've tested and it didn't rank. I think it didn't rank because I didn't invest 1€ on their CMS, so I've got a webpage that take 20sec to load for having a wix logo, then all content on a javascript variable.
So How the giftseoschool from wix rank to the 3rd position (I didn't say 3rd on serp). They have some good authoritative links, and if we are looking at the links progression, we surely see that SEO hero anchor and links from all over the world came in the last month.
They have 2 strategy, they started with seoheroschool then switch to giftseoschool, i don't know why they switch. Perhaps because they are thinking their domain was too optimised for Seo hero and they saw there was a filter on the challenge. We don't know if it's google that manually made a filter, but it's very curious we are all participant below top100.
But they were fairplay. Their blog spot announcing the challenge was on 1st position, It was easy to take all content from giftseo and put a 301 to replace their blog post. And it's probably legitime bcause if you have a page on your website where you are talking about, a topic, then you have later more content to create an independant website, Why not to do this ? If you've got a school, you probably begin to say : we are doing math, physics and art, but if each professor make specific content, it's better to create a website specifically.

The challenge SEO Hero come to an end this 15 march 2017, and the result has no surprise, The french Walid Gabteni won the party vs Wix.
The winner will be announced the 30 march, but with the help of Patrick Stox who was the history of the challenge (I really thinking he was the judge and not a participant), We all see place results 6 times with seo-hero.tech on the organic second place on google just after the corporate wix page announcing the challenge.
Seo-hero.tech and Seo-hero.ninja was two really usefull tools you can count on using after the seo hero contest because it's relly help you find other keywords on a query.
Now the judge will decide to consecrate or not Walid. He send them both and to paul too with seo-hero.io a mail with a video that I'm proud to comment.
Since the beginning we are talking about #frenchseoteam. The thing you must imagine, like in real life as seo, we are also competitors each others for our clients. Sometimes we are working on the same query (i'm never on competitive keywords). We know we don't work the same manner. There's more than 200 factors to rank and if you combine this factor it's nearly impossible to make something 2 times the same.
On other challenge, the keyword is really new and we can imagine all sorts of topic to work. With SEO Hero, it's a very silly keyword because we must compete on "SEO" and "Hero". Ok let's go, what are we talking about ?? SEO of course ! Where are you looking about SEO content ? Ok let's go find our friends because he have a SEO blog.
Now I need a theme to talk about... Ok let's talk about the seo hero challenge and talk about the rules, and the french participants. That's all. We have each one our website to rank and we all want to win the challenge, and if one of us win he prabably pay for an apero, but not share his 50k.
So to start more easily, we have communicate about the challenge to have more french competitors and som of them tell us they will not participate. That was the case of Laurent bourelly who made a first article, and Beetle SEO (in first page) who talk about the challenge and the links are very very very on the end of the article, and not really optimised.

Un concours SEO a été lancé par la Société WIX qui n'est pas connu pour ses grosses performances en SEO alors que c'est son principal axe de communication. En effet pour peu que vous vous soyez penché sur la solution, ils proposent une interface, certes facile à utiliser, mais lorsque l'on se penche un peu sur le SEO, on part un peu en courant. Edit : On touche à la fin du concours, ce que l'on peut constater comparé à tous les autres concours, c'est qu'il y a des filtres qui s'activent. On est sur une requête qui est également pas très futée car elle est associé à la notion de SEO. Bravo à Walid qui est dans les 1ers et va sûrement gagner, je n'aurais pas réussi à me positionner mieux avec mon https://loveseo.top mais cet article sauve un peu l'honneur même s'il ne vaut pas une poussée comme le site seroundtable.

Dans ce second hangout, on a invité les participants au hangout, je vous gratifie de mon super anglais approximatif. On a invité Patrick Stox SEO chez IBM qui a fait une grosse veille sur le concours mais qui aura été le grand perdant, je lui ai un peu reproché de m'avoir mis dans la section des spams (en plus sans backlink) et on a également reçu penrod. Ces discussion ont été sympa.
Là on joue pour rajouter des sites Fr au hall of fame pour prendre les 1ère positions même si c'est nos sites plus anciens, voir corporate, montrer que l'on a un savoir faire, et que l'on est capable même en étant assez moyen pour ma part en anglais. En tout cas on aura bien rigolé et on aura pu tester des techniques propres en utilisant ce que le web nous met à disposition.

Sauf qu google ignore simplement tout ce qu'il se passe derrière le signe # qui pour lui permet de pointer une ancre sur la page. Donc l hashbang c'est #!
On aurait tendance à dire que c'est le signe qui précède une insulte !#@?! de Seo hero

Wix a décidé de participer au concours avec un seo hero school mais apparemment ils ont fini par faire une redirection 301 vers un autre domaine.
